Horses have been a constant presence and pleasure throughout my whole life, and it's truly rewarding to connect with horses on a deeper level and to help address their physical needs. In 2011 I gained an Equinology Equine Body Worker (EEBW) certification in equine sports massage, with Equinology Ltd.

To further develop my knowledge and techniques, I am pursuing a diploma in equine remedial and sports massage with Equi-Therapy UK. This program is accredited by UK Rural Skills, an organisation that aligns with national occupational standards, thereby ensuring a high-quality education and industry-wide recognition of my qualifications. I am insured, and accredited by International Equine Body Worker Association (IEBWA).

To ensure I provide the most comprehensive care, I actively pursue professional growth by attending courses focused on biomechanics and equine anatomy dissections, as well as veterinary lectures. Furthermore, I value collaboration with other equine professionals, which provides me with a well-rounded perspective in supporting horses.

Enhanced Performance

By addressing muscle imbalances and tension, massage can improve your horse's range of motion, flexibility, and overall athletic capability. This can lead to more efficient movement and potentially better performance in their discipline.

Injury Prevention

Regular massage can help identify areas of tightness or discomfort before they develop into more serious issues. By promoting healthy muscle function and circulation, it can contribute to preventing injuries.

Faster Recovery

Massage aids in reducing muscle soreness and stiffness after exercise or competition by increasing blood flow and helping to remove metabolic waste products. This can lead to quicker recovery times and keep your horse feeling their best.

Early Detection of Issues

Through hands-on assessment, I can often detect subtle changes in muscle tone or areas of sensitivity that may indicate underlying problems, allowing for earlier intervention and veterinary care if needed.

Tactile Defence

Tactile defence can be a protective reaction to touch, often stemming from pain or discomfort, and can make it difficult for horses to engage in normal activities like grooming or handling.

Improved Well-being

The physical manipulation and increased circulation from massage can have a relaxing effect on your horse, reducing stress and promoting a sense of well-being.
